think he thinks hes a person my g/f and i fight about this stupid dog...i dont like dogs in the house...outside is fine, but i hate the smell, and the flees that dogs bring in with them. .... this is stopping us from moving in together...anyone have any suggestions

If this is the only reason, you guys could have bigger problems later on. You both need better communication skills. i'd choose the dog over you.

No dog is "untrainable". It takes time, patience and a lot of hard work. Sounds like she may spoil him a little too. There are ways to prevent fleas and keep a dog clean. There are also methods to keep pet smells out of a house. In a relationship, you have to be willing to compromise and be accepting.

My suggestion for her is to ditch your butt. My advice to you is to get over yourself. Why would ANY dog WANT to be human? They are happy just the way they are. Not all dogs have fleas (that's what flea preventative is for) and not all dogs have a strong odor (that's what shampoo is for). If you want to be with her you'll buck up and stop thinking the world revolves around you.

first and foremost dogs ARENT humans. i think that is most of dog owners problems is that they treat them like other humans. humans dont lick their butts, or sniff other people, or bite while playing for that matter. i would say that the problem is that the dog doesnt see you as an alpha male yet. you just have to stick with it and keep on with discipline. make sure to be stern, but not physical even though im sure it gets frustrating. from now on you are the one who feeds the dog so the dog can see that you are the dominant one. once that is established then LOTS of praise. you just got to stay in a routine and stick with it.
