She is a very sweet mix Goldie,around 40 lbs and house broken.
But I cannot even touch my girl friend in play without her going off big time.Yesterday she grabbed my arm then my leg.I know she has 'issues'.Should I just gain her trust,put her on meds or hope this will past,When the animal control people came to get her from the old house she was covered in her old owners blood so I figure she tried to protect him

Where are you located? I would be more than willing to work with you two and the dog to help the dog become more balanced. If the dog is protecting your girlfriend then your girlfriend needs to be the one to show dominance and let the dog know that it is okay and that she is in control. You can also do the same thing.
