Default Do you show or breed quality dogs?

If you do, what is at least one way that you think your breed needs improvement?

In the PWC's I see to many overly hevy and/or low dogs, which hinders them from being efficient and athletic workers. Also many Corgis are looseing their working instinct.

I would also be interested in what you think of my breeds condition.

Thanx.

Yes. Newfoundlands. We need more bone and head, and more correct coats. Some shorter bodies and necks too!!! Seeing some "giraffe" looking dogs out there!!!!!! Snugger eyes too.

I show and breed top quality Cardigan Welsh Corgi's. Specifying in top conformational and working dogs, that come in Blue Merle and Tri-colors with Brindle or Tan points. On occasion I get a black and white.

Pembrokes are losing there herding drive, but not the instinct. Pembrokes have become more of a companion dog rather than a working breed. They have strayed from the idea Corgi standard mainly because of the call for companion needs. Bad breeding practices are happening in all breeds its crucial and detrimental to the animals that we maintain a strict code of ethics when breeding any type of dog even hybreds and mutts.

there has become a huge emphasis in the showbred whippet for TRAD (tremendous reach & drive) at the show trot which has produced a dog with a "long sweeping" rear. IE: hindquarters 18 inches behind the dog where they have no change of powering the dog effectively at a run- the breeds true function.
THe racers have a distressingly large section of the population that can barely make it under the height standard and large boned and wide creating a few individuals that weigh as much as a greyhound!
That and the dogs that lack prey drive and won't chase a lure(and not all are showbred)
