My 5yr. old chochlate lab was getting ready to go upstairs and one of the children I watch was sitting there. Well the dog has had an ear infection but should be clear or close. Ok so she was petting the dog I was standing beside her at the time and dog just puts his face right into her neck without any snap or bite and growls and shakes his head back and forth. Scared us all I was stunned. He has growled a few times in past but normaly at night if we have company and they go to sit beside him and he's a sleep he would growl. But nothing like this and he's never snapped or bit anyone. Does anyone have any suggestions I don't let him hang out with kids he has a spot he sleeps upstairs most of day and only comes down to go pee. Than at night he is downstairs and sleeps with my 9yr.old, who he has never been aggressive too. I also should add that he is scared easily especially of loud noises. Any help would be appreciated. ok i'm adding some more details. I was scared of what might of happened to the girl. I'm not scared of my dog myself. This dog has been in a daycare for 5 yrs. Everyone adores him he's not normally aggressive dog. My vet has said himself what a good dog he is. thanks for all your help. The best answer was to get back to the vet and check those ears first than go from there. Aggressive , laid back whatever ANY dog can bite at anytime so he will need to be upstairs during my work hours. I can take him out at lunch and nap times. Thanks again
