If he's not registered with one of the recognized clubs (AKC in the US, and I know that the UK has a comparable society), then he can't even be entered. If you didn't get papers for him, then he's not registered.

If he is pedigreed and registered, then he can be shown; the sites below should have some more information.

If that is your dog in the picure next to your question, he doesnt look show material.
this is what a show shepherd should look like

Oh and he cannot be spayed or nuetered because if your dog wins you would want to carry on his bloodline to better the breed. if your dog does not meet the AKC descriptions than you should nueter your dog if you havn't already.

puppies are not allowed either.

First off is he registered? Why don't you google the web page of the dog registry kennel club in london and there will be a wealth of information on showing on there...if you dog is not registered though you will not be able to show in kennel club shows where all dogs must be registered.

I don't think you can show a coated GSD. That's what some people call long haired GSD. You can do agility with him.

Your dog is already registered, so if I were you I would check into the breed standards to see if your dog even qualifies to be shown. Here is a link that gives the breed standards in the UK. The AKC also has the same standards so I'll give you that link as well.
If you feel that your dog meets all of these qualifications, then you would need to contact the Kennel club to find out the proper procedures to enter your dog. You will need to find a good handler/trainer to teach your dog how to perform in the ring.

Good luck to you!!
