Irresponsible agency gave me a sick dog..what would you do?
I adopted a dog on Thursday from a no kill shelter in Texas. As soon as we left the little guy was hacking away - it corresponded with his walks so at first I thought he was allergic. I took him to my vet today and he has kennel cough and now my dogs do to. My vet told me there's no way a vet could've listened to his lungs and released him all clear for adoption, especially to a home with other dogs. I had to spend another $100 for medication on top of the $160 adoption fee. BTW...the dog is not a puppy dachshund as they stated, he's a full grown chihuahua mix. I want my money back in full or at least the 100 I paid for all three to be treated - if not I'm giving him back. What would you do?
The point being: They are supposed to "match" their animals to good homes - how can they do that when they are sick? They lied about the breed, age and condition just to get it a home. Don't be shocked that I want to give it back....that's their bad. And while I'm at it, I'm throwing out all of the papers they gave me, just to inconvenience them as they did me.
