I want to get a dog, specifically a bulldog. I've been around them before and they have the coolest personalities. I currently am on an internship, and my roommate has a huskie that is 2 years old. I would only be living in this place for 8 months. I would also be working 40-50 hours per week. Would this be ok if I was to get a bulldog? Can they handle being home alone for 8-10 hours? If I was to come home for lunch, would that help?

I don't really think this is the best time for you to get a dog.
You need to be more settled as a dog can live up to 14 years and you are only going to be in the place you are at for 8 months after that what if you have problems finding a place because of a dog.
The careing for a puppy is a full time job and right now it sounds like you have your hands full.
Don't worry when the time is right the perfect dog will be there for you and things will fall into place, if you push it you will end up with a untrained troublesome pain.
How about you help out with the dog you room mate has. That way you get all the positives without the drawbacks and you can workout you dog training methods (do's and don't ) before you get you own dog.
