Default Why do dogs eat grass? Does it mean they're sick?

When I take my puppy out for a walk, she often eats grass. I just rescued her from a shelter and I am concerned that there might be something wrong. Is this normal behavior?

Your dog is perfectly fine. dogs eat grass sometimes b cuz their stomach may be hurting and it helps them to throw up. you have nothing to worry about. its all natural

My dog also does this, at first I was worried that she had a stomach ache, but its been constant for over 5 yrs, Ive changed her dogfood and just come to the realization that she likes the grass....my vet also told me that it wasn't a big deal, if she wasn't throwing it back up...Good Luck

All my dogs eat grass and they are perfectly healthy. I have always heard that their stomach just needs something thats why they do it. But if they eat too much of it they will vomit! So just keep an eye out on her!

Dogs and cats will eat grass to aid their digestive system; although it is more common w/ cats than with dogs...

Can you believe I actually took my dog to the vet for a checkup because she was eating grass?! LOL The vet said there was absolutely nothing wrong with her. Just because your dog eats grass, does not mean it is necesarily sick. Some dogs have a taste for grass, just like a cow, or any other animal.
