How do I stop my yellow lab from growling at my husband and I at night? Please I
need some suggestions...? We have a 4 yr old Yellow/Chocolate Lab. We also have a 6 year old Bassett Hound. They play well together, we keep them separated while we are gone because we need to keep an eye on them while eating and playing. At night, the dogs sleep in our bedroom on their own dog beds. During the night, the Yellow Lab sneaks up on the bed after we have fallen asleep. Every time my husband or I move or turn, our Yellow Lab growls. It's a long growl, not just a short growl telling us we may have interuptted his sleep. I call his name to settle him down and he continues to growl until I turn on the light. When he sees my face, he wags his tail. Sometimes he sleeps on the bed if we're watching TV and the lights are on and he isn't bothered if we move. It seems as though as soon as the lights go out, he turns aggressive. He has never lunged at us or snipped. His growl is very intimidating. Could he be scared of the dark? We have locked him out of the bedroom and he poops on the floor.
