Keeping the chihuahuas seperated.?

We have two chihuahuas. We want them to breed when our girl has her second heat. They have free run over the acre and a half they live on. We tried diapering our girl to keep her from getting poked but she chewed the diaper up. Any suggestions on keeping both dogs calm and seperated when they can't be supervised?
