...their dog? Is it any good? I just spent a few hours on the net reading up and was horrified to learn that many dog foods use euthanized pets as a meat base. No wonder they just say "meat by-products" and are not specific as to what kind of "meat". I need to know if what i feed my dog is any good. I read the label and it seems good, just need confirmation. Does anyone know if it's cruelty-free as well? Meaning the company does not do awful animal testing. Please help.

For RGOLDBERG are you sure it was recalled in Canada? Why? Pease remember this is the Australian-made natural balance, maybe you are confusing it with a brand of the same name.
thanks to all who answered, i checked the recalled food list and thankfully, it is american-made canned natural balance that was recalled, not the on i was asking about.

I was using Natural Balance until they did a recall. Now i only use organic grain free, ex: Timberwolf. It is harder to find the organic grain free foods, but most smaller pet stores carry good food. Timberwolf even ships for free, so you can buy online. Check the food recall list often, I see new information all the time. Now they are finding Acetaminophen in cat food! I highly recommend going organic these days.

I have heard of that food and I have read some about it I think that is a good product and maybe better than other foods but i have not tried it. I don't know about the euthanized pets part either you know not to believe everything you read on the internet right? Pet foods do have some standards.
