Default If your dog is older, do you feed him Omega 3 & fish oil in his food, if yes does...

...it help? My dog has the following symptoms: won't go for walks, won't jump into the car or onto the bed or up into my arms. He used to do all of these easily and enthusiastically. Any suggestions?

you can certainly use omega 3's as they help reduce inflammation on a cellular level, but your dog would probably benefit from some glucosamine and duralactin. talk to your vet about it.

IMHO good source of Omega fatty acids is always great. However, this problem seems unrelated.
Consult a holistic vet and
Best of Luck!!!

We use Nutro Natural Choice Lamb and rice. It has the omega 3 fish oils and also glucosamine. We have a couple of chis that are getting a little older, 9 1/2 and 10. The 10 yr old has a little arthritis in one leg due to an injury when he was still quite young. They both get around pretty good. The male walks a little slower, but they can go up and down stairs in a run when they want to. Haven't really slowed down that much even with the arthritis in the one's leg.

It could be any number of things - please see your vet. Salmon Oil is a great supplement to add to your pet's diet for several reasons but it's not a magical cure. Your dog might be seriously ill.
