Stray not eating dog food, wants people food?
We found him yesterday at a gas station. Here is some info on him:

The problem is that he will only eat people food...not dog food even when he is clearly hungry.
We have no idea what he ate before he came to us but he is not going to live on people food...I worry his palate has been ruined.
Suggestions for getting him to eat dog food???
He's going to the vet on Tuesday morning for a check-up and shots. He is very healthy and playful and only about 6 months old...but he only wants people food- will beg for toast, our son's sandwich last night, etc. I fed him dog food- wet and dry mixed as I do for our dog and he refused it...yet ran for our daughters cereal. I have a feeling whoever owned him let him eat junk.
Ideas?
Thank you!
Our Beagle is on Nutro food- NOT cheap. He gets that and a teaspoon of Mighty Dog every morning. The stray will not eat ANY dog food. I have no idea how long he was a stray for- the gas station owner said he had been there for almost 2 days and I am very surprised the dog wasn't killed- it was on a busy highway that he was left.
He had been a stray for awhile- covered in knots and filthy. He had a bath last night and I gave him a haircut. He is very quick to learn new things- I taught him how to "sit" last night in the matter of a couple of hours of short sessions. He WAS fed scraps. The owner said he felt bad and gave him french fries and part of his hamburger. That makes sense. It's not a good diet for him though.
CF- while I would agree with the fact he may actually have an owner, I doubt it very highly. We posted signs last night around the area where we found him and checked the local papers. He was abandoned in a remote area- we live on the outskirts of the city. I doubt he arrived there on his own, still signs are up- including in the gas station where we found him (husband and son went out last night to do so at 7:00 pm).
