What ever you do slowly switch the food. Also I would like to recomend any of the higher end purinas even the one you find at wal-mart are much better than most of the big names. A couple of years ago I saw some results of a test that had been done on dog food and to a shock after years of spending 30-40 fo a bag of dog food I switched to purina. A hint some of the fancy names of the stuff in some dog food I would probably die before eating it and it does the dog no good. So if you do take another reccomendation please read labels and find out what the stuff is.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Congrats on the new addition!
I reccommend keeping it on the food its currently eating for a few weeks. A new home will be stressful enough, dont add switching foods to it!

When you are ready to switch, do it gradually, add a little of the new food, and less of the old.. gradually add more new each day and less of the old, until its completely switched over.

Some good brands

chickensoup for the pet lover's soul
merricks
wellness
california natural
Drs Foster and Smith
canidae
innova
evo
eagle pack
Dick Van Pattern's natural balance
solid gold

I'm so sorry for your loss, but happy about the new beginning for you. Make sure your husband finds out what your new puppy is eating now. You want to stay on that food so not to give the pup tummy problems. Then you can look into other foods and change over slowly if you choose to change. All the best with your new baby;^)

Make sure the pup is at least 8 weeks and find out what the breeder is feeding and get some of that.

One of my friend's Bostons was weaned too early and now has many bowel issues. She has to eat special food, usually Duck and Potato and she has to eat every few hours.

Her other one came from a mill and has allergies to some food. So special diet for her as well.

Most Bostons are very healthy. She knew better and still bought dogs from bad people.

I'd say avoid Corn or Soy and feed a good quality kibble.
