well my dog (ginger) has been eating royal canin ever since she was born, we tried eukanuba as well, but she just didn't like it. You have gotta let you dog choose for him/herself!!!! do what i did, try different ones the one she likes the most you keep!!!

Oh yeah I also cook for her myself, when i don't have time i just fill a bowl and give it to her, otherwise she eats what I eat.

I feed my dog "Kibbles and Bits" or "Kibbles and Chunks", it is one of the few she doesn't throw up out of the ones I have tried. She is a Boxer/Corgie named Hershey and is 7 years old. If you want to and have time to cook for your dog go for it, just make sure it is basic and not any spices of sauces.

There's more opinions on whats the best food than I could mention. Generally a food with low fillers such as corn and wheat is accepted by most to be preferred. As for cooking boiled or roasted chicken and rice about once a week is a great supplement just remember no salt or spices.

BTW if you have a high energy dog who is outside alot it's a good idea to feed a Hi protein food.

the best food foor dogs? i think the usual "rice with a mix of soup for the taste..it's safe and not bad for their skin and smell. my dog is a chinese shar pei, 5 months old. i pity people who cook dog for food. they are silly because they kill a friend who could give a special friendship as long as they live.
