Hi, about a year ago I rescued a Sheltie..she has become the light of my life. She only likes canned dog food and refuses to eat any dry. Her vet and everyone else says to not give her canned food..to put out dry food and she will eventually eat it when she's hungry enough. I have tried Pedigree, Dog Chow, Beneful..sp?, and a few other name brands that I can't remember plus some discount brands and she will literally go for days without touching it. I have mixed canned with dry but she makes a huge mess because she actually takes the time to take it out of her bowl and seperates it! Also tried Gravy Train..and mixed it with warm water. I can't stand the thought of her being hungry..and I keep hearing that dry food is better for dogs for many reasons..teeth,etc. Does anyone have any ideas..should I wait it out? The longest I have waited is 4 days and I give in because I think she must be starving by then! Any help greatly appreciated..
Okay, bananama..thanks for taking the time to answer, but I didn't realize I was "lame" for asking a question because I care what is best for my dog. I am grateful for all answers..just hope you don't own a pet!
